Azure Entra ID (SSO)

This article helps IT Administrators through the essential steps to grant organization-wide permissions (SSO via Entra ID), toggle between open and restricted access models, and manually assign specific users or groups to the platform.

Updated over a month ago

SSO via Entra ID is only available in the SQAI Suite Enterprise Plan. If you are on the Squad Plan, please contact your Customer Success Manager and request a quote to activate your Enterprise Plan.

Single Sign-On (SSO) for SQAI is managed at the organizational level. Our SQAI Administrators handle the initial backend configuration. Once that is complete, you can manage user access within your own Microsoft Azure (Entra ID) portal.

1. Granting Organizational Consent

When the first user from your organization logs into SQAI, an Enterprise Application is automatically created in your tenant. To ensure your team can access the platform, an IT Admin must grant permission on behalf of the whole company.

How to do it:

  1. In your Azure portal, navigate to the SQAI Suite Enterprise Application.

  2. Go to Security > Permissions in the left-hand menu.

  3. Click the blue button: Grant admin consent for SQAI.

Use the Permissions tab to authorize the application for your entire organization.

2. Choosing Your Access Model

By default, SQAI is configured to allow any user in your tenant to sign in. You can change this behavior in the Properties section if you wish to limit access to specific departments or individuals.

The "Assignment Required" Toggle:

  • Set to "No" (Default): Anyone in your organization can log in.

  • Set to "Yes": Only users you specifically authorize will be able to log in.

Locate "Assignment required?" under the Properties menu to toggle between open or restricted access.

3. Adding Authorized Users

If you set Assignment required? to Yes in the previous step, you must now manually choose who gets access.

How to add users:

  1. Go to the Manage > Users and groups section in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click + Add user/group at the top.

  3. Select the individuals or security groups who should have permission to use the platform.

Manage your authorized user list and groups under the "Users and groups" tab.

Need Help? If your users see a "Need Admin Approval" message after you have completed these steps, ensure that the Admin Consent (Step 1) was saved successfully. For further assistance, please contact your SQAI Administrator.
